Two Way Radios

When you hear the phrase 'Digital Communications' there are several systems that come to mind - mobile phone, tracking systems and even laptops and tablets all come under this headline.

But possibly the oldest and most traditional way of communicating between employees and colleagues for business is unchanged - two way radios.

As with most electronics, the technology for radios like these has advanced over the years with various advantages now possible. Longer range, clearer signal and digital clarity are just a few of these considerations.

Besides this there are many optional extras to think about that make using the radio even more simple and business friendly.

Hands free radio use - Push to talk (PTT) and handsfree headsets are one of the best tools to add to a radio system, especially for those that might need radio assistance but may not have both hands free because of working.

Battery charging units and lifetime - In many cases the life of the battery on a radio is now far longer, despite the additional on board technology. But recharging stations can be purchased (and are often supplied with) so units will be ready when personnel return to work.

Paging function - If you are unsure of the availability of someone then using the paging function rather than disturbing them in a meeting might be handy. Some of the newest radio systems even offer 'unavailable messages' that will be sent back if the user is busy.

Multi channel communications - Useful for businesses with several staff and departments to consider, multiple channels means that the same system can be used by all employees, but separate networks are utilised. This means that only the relevant people will hear the necessary conversations and those this might be managing several teams can jump in and out of their networks as and when needed.

These are just a few of the considerations many businesses have to look into before purchasing their radio system along with the manufacturer they would prefer and range required.
